French fintech ecosystem is on the rise
France’s fintech environment keeps on evolving. In 2018, €365 million were raised in the sector. Thanks to a continuous flow of innovation, a skilled workforce and a growing attractiveness for investment France has a vibrant fintech ecosystem. France is a one of the top recipients of venture capital in fintech. France is decided to actively take part in the financial revolution. To prepare the ground for this revolution, the French government introduced a clear and ambitious set of regulations providing legal certainty to the start-ups. Additionally, the French government, in partnership with several actors of the private sector, created the platform Swave. This platform is dedicated to the business incubation of the fintech industry.

Andrés Lopez Vernaza, is Economist and Engineer. He is Advisor to the Chief Digital Officer of Banque de France since 2016, in charge of the relationship between initiatives from the innovative ecosystem, the Banque de France’s Innovation Center for digital experimentation known as "Le LAB", the Fintech Innovation hub of the ACPR and the Business units of the Banque de France. Banque de France was distinguished as “Pioneer Central Bank” at the Central Banking Fintech & Regtech Global Awards 2019
Farida Poulain, after a few years in banking industry, Farida joined the start-up universe ten years ago. She began her journey as Chief Operating Officer at Younited Credit (formerly Prêt d’Union), then at Payplug (acquired by Natixis) and then she co-founded Depopass (now a BPCE brand). Fintech addict, passionate about tomorrow’s finance, now Farida is the incubation manager at Le Swave, the first innovation platform dedicated to fintechs, operated by Paris & Co, in France.
