Accenture Digital announces the first Global edition of Digital Hackathon for young creative designers, developers and marketers including both students and recent graduates.

About the Hackathon:

Today’s challenges are too complex to be solved by any individual person or nation. The solutions of the future will require the creativity and innovation of us all because only by working together will we be able to create a better world. This is the challenge that has been set for the latest Accenture Global Digital Hackathon, which will involve Istanbul, Rome,London, Dubai, Bangalore, Shanghai, Manila, Singapore, Mexico City, Chicago and Monterrey.

During our 24-hour marathon the participants will be asked to prototype ideas, products and services that are able to create social and economic value for the community by hacking everyday objects. Participants will be asked to use digital technologies in creative, innovative ways to benefit people and the environment with a view to offering solutions in a range of fields.

The projects executed by the teams for the competition will be evaluated by a panel of expert judges, some of which will be members of Accenture senior management, along with other authoritative figures from the world of high-tech and innovation.

The three winning teams will be awarded with a total of 15.000TL of technological vouchers.

At the end of the ceremony, the first teams in each country will then be invited to compete head to head against the winners from the other countries in order to determine the best team overall.

How to form a team:

Participation is open only to existing teams of 3 to 5 people and to individuals who will then be able to form teams at the event, either on their own or with the help of the event organizers. The teams will be composed of a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 5 people and contain at least one designer, a developer and a marketing specialist. The presence of a data analyst is recommended but not mandatory.

Who judges the winners:

The winning team will be decided by a jury made up of industry experts and professionals of Accenture.

What are the evaluation criterias for the selection of the winning team?

The jury will analyze and evaluate all works submitted by the team according to the following four evaluation criterias:

When and where the event will take place?

The hackathon is to be held on the days of November 11, 2017, starting at 11:00 thru November 12, 2017 finishing at 18:00, at the Accenture’s Istanbul office in Tamburi Ali Efendi Sok. No:13, 34337, Etiler -Istanbul and simultaneously in the following cities: Rome,London, Dubai, Bangalore, Shanghai, Manila, Singapore, Mexico City, Chicago and Monterrey. 

Will Accenture get the intellectual property rights to the product coded by the teams?

No, the code produced by the team during the Hackathon will be of their own property.
